about Contour drawing
We begin each 9 weeks with contour line drawing. We start with blind contour, where the students draw the lines they see in the subject without ever looking at their paper. Then, they move on to modified contour drawings where they can see the paper, and, as time goes on, we gradually introduce shading. The hand drawings are modified contour drawings; with the leaf drawings students are beginning to experiment with shading,
